Legendary actor suddenly dies at home

Bryan McCardie, who played a lead role in LINE of Duty, “suddenly” died at home at the age of 59.

He was best known for his role as John Thomas “Tommy” Hunter in the BBC drama. McCardie died on Sunday, his sad family said today.

A lot of people are now saying nice things about the “wonderful and passionate” Scottish-born actor.

Sister Sarah McCardie wrote on X (which used to be Twitter), “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brian James McCardie, who was loved by many as a son, brother, uncle, and friend.”

“Brian died quickly at home on April 28, 2018.”

He was a great actor on stage and screen, and he loved what he did. He touched many people’s lives, and he died much too soon.

“We will miss him a lot and love him.” Please think about Brian.

“Arrangements for the funeral will be made public soon.”

There was also an episode of Outlander where McCardie played Sir Marcus MacRannoch.

The actor had just started working on the Outlander prequel Blood of My Blood, where he played the leader of Clan Grant.

Some of the actors he was filming with were Sara Vickers, Harriet Slater, Jamie Roy, and Peter Mullan. The upcoming show is about the parents of Outlander character Jamie Fraser.

It is said that McCardie has been acting for 35 years, both on TV and in movies.

The actor also starred with Sean Bean in the popular BBC prison drama Time in 2021 and in Irvine Welsh’s TV show Crime.

He was also in movies like Rob Roy with Liam Neeson, Filth by Irvine Welsh, and the thriller Low Winter Sun with Mark Strong.

“Shocked and devastated to learn of the death of Brian McCardie,” author Paul Larkin wrote on Twitter.

I had a lot of great conversations with Brian about mental health issues, and he was always there to help me.

“On top of that, he was a great actor.” “Sleep tight, Brother.”

George Clark said, “I’m so sorry to hear this.” Was there with him everywhere he went. More so than filth and crime. “Rest in peace.”

Alan Bowman Clarke, the director, wrote, “I’m sad to hear about the death of legendary actor Brian McCardie.”

“When we talked about projects a few times, I always found him to be honest, passionate, kind, and funny.”

“I wrote a part for him in a project that lies ahead.” The people in his family, friends, and work are in my thoughts.
