The most beloved actress passed away at 70 after cancer battle

The actress Patti Yasutake from STAR Trek: The Next Generation has died at the age of 70.

Patti died peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She was also in the award-winning Netflix show Beef.

Kyle Fritz, the actress’s longtime friend and agent, told Deadline on Tuesday that the news was true.

He told them that she died on August 5 with loving family and friends around her.

“Patti was my first client when I began over 30 years ago,” he said.

“We enjoyed every day we got to work together, and I will miss her spirit talent and tenacity but most of all her friendship.”

Life of Patti

Pia was born and raised in Gardena and Inglewood, California. She graduated from UCLA with honors in theater.

For the first six years of her long career in Hollywood, she worked with Japanese-American actor Mako at the theater group East West Players.

Patti’s first movie role was as Umeki in Gung Go (1986), which starred Ron Howard.

Two years later, she played the lead role in The Wash, which got her a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.

Patti played Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in many Star Trek movies from 1994 to 1996.

Patti has also been in the movies Blind Spot, Road to Galveston, and Drop Dead Gorgeous.

Patti has been a guest star on a number of popular TV shows over the years, such as Bones, The Closer, Grey’s Anatomy, and Cold Case.

“May her memory bring her peace.”

Many Patti fans shared their sadness on X and praised her for her great career.

One fan wrote, “So sorry to hear about Patti Yasutake’s death.”

“As Nurse Ogawa on TNG, she was great.” As well as her whole job. May the memory of her be a blessing.

“She was wonderful,” said someone else.

Another person said, “Glad she was surrounded by love in the end.”

“This news is too much for me to handle.” “I love her [Star Trek] character so much,” said someone else.

Five people said, “She was great and we will miss her.”

An event to honor Patti will happen at East West Players in Los Angeles at a later date.
